One summer I really wanted to attend Sage Burgener’s Bad Bitches Camp. To raise money, a friend and I did a running and burpee challenge. The total ended up being 1500 burpees and 7 miles of running. I’ve also completed a 24-hour challenge- 24 WODs in 24 hours and then was crazy enough to say yes to 12 Hero WODs in 12 hours on another occasion. All of these events showed me that I have more mental grit than I realized.

I was never involved in sports growing up and wasn’t very athletic as a kid. I actually had zero desire for anything fitness-related until one day, much later in life,  I took my first CrossFit class and I was hooked. CrossFit was also the gateway to my passion and love for the barbell. My journey has morphed from no fitness to CrossFit competitions, powerlifting competitions, a figure show, and personal growth far greater than I could have expected. Learning what my body is capable of and being proud of what I can do, led me to pursue coaching, because I want each of my athletes to experience the same sense of accomplishment I did, no matter their fitness experience or background.

My enemy of my life journey is self doubt and fear of failure. This has been a lifelong battle and I can’t say that I have conquered it - yet.

I love teaching and I love watching an athlete learn a new skill or add an extra 5 pounds on to a lift. I love celebrating successes and PR’s with my athletes. I want people who maybe don’t have a lot of experience in the gym, to come to my class, feel welcome and like they fit in, and walk out feeling like they can do hard things!
